Summer Lodge Country House Hotel and Spa, is tucked away in the picturesque village of Evershot in the heart of the Dorset countryside. It is perfect as a venue for conferences and corporate getaways due to its peaceful atmosphere.

There are 24 bedrooms on site with capacity to host up to 50 guests. The privacy of the lodge makes it ideal for groups who wish to use it on an exclusive hire basis. During an exclusive hire, guests have use of all the Summer Lodge event spaces including the Restaurant, Drawing Room, Bar, tennis court and gardens.

The antique panelled Dorchester Suite can accommodate up to 16 delegates in boardroom style or up to 24 in theatre style. In addition, the dining room overlooks the perfectly manicured lawn and gardens and can be used as an additional event space when the lodge is exclusively hired.

The restaurant specialises in traditional English cuisine that is further enhanced by award-winning sommeliers and an extensive wine cellar. The luxurious five star spa features a heated indoor pool area with sauna and steam room as well as a wide range of treatments.

Celebrating a wedding at Summer Lodge is one of the most idyllic and romantic experiences imaginable. This elegant and supremely comfortable country house, surrounded by lush gardens, makes the perfect setting for a day to remember.

The venue team’s attention to detail and passion for excellence, are sure to exceed your every expectation.

History

Built in 1798 as a dower house by the 2nd Earl of Ilchester, the property was enlarged in 1893 with a second floor added by the 6th Earl. The Earl commissioned his friend and local author, Thomas Hardy, (an architect by profession) to draw up the plans. The house was further modernised in 1932 by the last Earl to live in Dorset, when as Lord Stavordale, he brought his bride to live at Summer Lodge. In 2003 the hotel came under new ownership with a complete refurbishment in order and is now receiving guests from all over who continually comment on its magnificence.
