Farncombe Estate is 400-acres of land that spans from Broadway to the top of the famous Fish Hill, incorporating Dormy House Hotel and Foxhill Manor.
Foxhill manor is a grade two listed manor built from the golden coloured Cotswold stone. Foxhill takes its name from the 18th century politician Charles James Fox who came to live nearby in the 1780s with his mistress and former courtesan, Elizabeth Armistead. He was MP for Midhurst aged just 19 and known for his penchant for gambling and the high life.
Dormy House hotel was originally Willersey Hill Farm and its owners farmed the surrounding land. In the mid 1940s, the house was bought by Broadway Golf Club and given its new name: Dormy House - Dormy coming from the term for an “unbeatable” round of golf. Remaining in the same family ownership since 1977, the hotel has developed a strong reputation for excellence and personal service.
