Review

Aqua London is a holy trinity comprised of a Japanese restaurant, a Spanish restaurant and terrace bar Aqua Spirit. Set within the former Dickins & Jones department store in the heart of London, the Aqua London event spaces are chic and glamorous.

Aqua Kyoto boasts the very latest in contemporary Japanese cuisine, offering sushi and sashimi complemented by a spectacular charcoal grill. The entire restaurant can be exclusively hired for private events, product launches and private dinners.

Sister restaurant Aqua Nueva is accessed via a striking glass catwalk that connects the two venues. Designed by Robert Angell the venue interiors feature sumptuous leather booths, bronze panels and mosaic floors. The space is warm and welcoming with an ambience which is elegant yet informal. Head Chef Alberto Hernandez offers a menu of small plates and Spanish dishes that honour his country's culinary heritage and innovation. Capturing the essence of contemporary Spanish dining, the newly evolved Aqua Nueva answers the capital's demand for high quality regional fare, in a sleek and elegant setting.

At night, the venue takes on an even more dramatic vibe as the decorative features, and outdoor terrace is showcased by artfully placed lighting. Aqua Spirit offers more than 3,000 sq ft at the front and rear of the building that is ideal for pre or post dinner drinks. Here guests can take in the unrivaled views across London's inner city rooftops and make the most of London's brief summer.

History

Aqua London opened its doors in 2009 and it was the first project outside China for Aqua restaurant group. Group owner David Yeo, is a former lawyer turned successful restaurateur and the company now owns fourteen cutting edge venues including flagship restaurant Hutong in Hong Kong. Aqua London occupies 17,000 square feet of attic over former Regent Street department store Dickins & Jones and its construction required a whole new floor to be built. The decor and cutting edge interiors were designed by Glamorous Co of Osaka in partnership with Aqua restaurant group founder, David Yeo.
